Section 1 Heading: Theoretical Framework of Educational Philosophy Describe the theoretical framework of your educational philosophy by completing the following: Review the literature about learning theory Identify two or more learning theories that resonate with your philosophy Support your selections with primary references of the theorists work Defend your choices of selected learning theories Review two or more peer-reviewed articles that support your selected theories. In summary, review the literature to identify, select, and defend two or more theories that resonate with your personal perspective related to teaching and learning. These theories will serve as a foundational framework for your philosophy. (Support your selections with two or more primary references to the original writings of the theorists).The definition of theory in this case is not something you personally think might be true, but a generally accepted educational theory upon which much peer-reviewed research has been conducted. Next, review two or more current works of peer-reviewed research (published within the past five years)that support your theoretical framework. In the next section you will be required to explain in detail how this research supports your educational philosophy. Section 2 Heading: Philosophy of Education Describe your educational philosophy by answering the following questions. Each question is aligned directly to an INTASC disposition outlined in this document. Review these standards before starting this assignment. Each answer you provide must be supported with references to peer-reviewed scholarly literature. Do not give your opinion unless it is substantiated with evidence from research. Explain the importance of subject-matter expertise, keeping in mind the continuous evolution of knowledge and tools used to learn. What are your beliefs about how students learn and develop? How do you adapt for the variety of diverse learners in today’s classrooms? What is the role of the teacher in encouraging learners to think critically, solve problems, and perform at high levels? How do you create a learning environment that encourages social interaction, active learning, and intrinsic motivation? What theory or research supports your communication style? How can effective verbal, non-verbal, and media communication foster inquiry, collaboration, and interaction in learning? How do you monitor and assess intellectual, social, and emotional student development? Provide a brief example of how you demonstrate this disposition. Section 3 Heading: Future Implications to Practice Describe how your educational philosophy will affect future practice(s). Support your position with peer-reviewed literature. Explain the importance of being a reflective practitioner. How will reflective activities modify future practices? In what ways will your philosophy of education foster relationships with stakeholders? In what way does your philosophy impact future research activities that promote social change?
