Aiming to eradicate HIV and AIDS around the world is the main mission of the Alliance. The main aim of the Alliance is that by the year 2030, the HIV will no longer be a public health hazard (International HIV/AIDS Alliance, 2016). In addition to HIV/AIDS, the alliance will continue to work to manage infections and co-morbidities, as it was found that medical co-morbidities may lead to increased risk of client becoming frail, having organ failure and having cognitive and functional impairment (Rodriguez-Penney et al., 2013).

In the fight against HIV/AIDS and co-morbidities, the Alliance involved other entities such as the private sector and governments. Collaboration is an important aspect in the alliance’s strategy, with Nystrom et al. (2018) concluded that collaboration is required in the study and fight of complex phenomena such as HIV.

The majority of the money are targeted to the Low income countries. However, living in a middle income country, does not mean that the citizen has higher income. Johnson (2016) pointed out that 70% of the poor live in middle income countries. This led to situation where the majority of the citizens, though living in a medium income country, do not have enough money to buy the required medicine.

Education aiming to decrease myths related to HIV/AIDS is important. Religious beliefs play important role in how we think and act. In a study done by Zou et al. (2009) in Tanzania, it was found that some religions even link HIV with God’s punishment.

As in its strategy the Alliance is to address harmful social norms, which include discrimination and social attitude, one has to take note  of the involvement (including monetary) coming from rich philanthropist and multinational corporations as these latter two may be biased in their decisions and in how to address the fight against HIV/AIDS.
