Research Question: Nigeria and Tanzania/Zambia were both colonized by the British but yet no ethnic/civil war in Zambia/Tanzania, why is that?
– Looking at two countries with similar former colonial powers and civil wars/ ethnic violence
– Use Daniel Posner reading for help, and also as a resource for citation
– Finding a catalyst of an explanation for such
– Find out what prominent social science or political researchers have to say about said topic
– Use relevant resources
– Have a reasonable strategic approach to the topic

– Look at their pre-colonial history, during colonization, and post-colonization
– Look at politics, economics, education, also the distribution of wealth
– Look at which ethnic groups held pollical powers, and why?
– Look at the population size, and ethnic groups
– Indirect or direct rule
– Look at the presence of tribes i.e. how large are so-called ethnic groups
– Look at natural resources and locations within those countries
– What was the catalyst for the civil war in Nigeria, was there almost or any civil war in Zambia?
Why was there a civil war in Nigeria but not in Zambia?
