Sustainable development Extra Credit

Usually I give 2 points extra credit for students who attend City Council meetings or get involved in-person with sustainability-related organizations. It’s more difficult to do that this year with the shelter-in-place. But since I mentioned this possibility in class, let’s do it. Many City Council meetings are now streamed online, and you can find out their schedule from municipal websites.

To get the credit, watch a City Council meeting or virtually attend an event organized by a sustainability-related organization ( a talk, protest, action, or organizational meeting). Then write a two-page, double-spaced reflection on your experience. Don’t just describe the experience, but analyze some aspect of it. What worked about the event, what didn’t work, or what does it tell us in some way about sustainability?
