Steve jobs is a great Leader. However in the words of Isaacson. Steven jobs is a people Person. The amount of effort he has put to build the team on Apple is tremendous. Creating the team is not easy and creating the team who produces best in class product is even more difficult. In this sector maintaining the consistency plays a vital role. Steven jobs is a also a Visionary because some time Steve was unable to express what he wanted to do or what he wanted to get the things from team still he was able to manage the expectation and achieved result. Also Steve did not believe in working together as a team, he believes in Virtual team and keep the communication in different modes of communication. This is the reason even after Steve was fired in Apple the company Leadership still wanted to take him back in the company. He was not autocratic leader but his behaviour was making other people feel like he is autocrat.
2 Bases on the review of Heifetz and Keohane words on Steve job is not really a good leader. There are couple of reasons – Steve is not a well-educated person, it is just that whatever he did has become successful. Any Leader always think ahead and plan for the next couple of years and steve did not plan anything for the future and after his tenure there was no one who could replace him. Steven did not show the Leadership style appropriately. The way he was communicating with the team and the message he wanted to deliver was not really appreciated by the employees since he was rude and arrogant. Even though he was not arrogant the way he was conveying the message was making the people feel like he is arrogant. Hence according to Heifetz and Keohane, Steve was not a good leader.
